As I walk to the front of my mat with my bare feet I can sense the energy I've cultivated within the space. I close my eyes in Tadasa and just breath a few rounds of breath. I breath with sound and focus on what I am doing (the present moment). Making it this far is a victory all by itself.
The most challenging part of my personal practice is starting, but once I start, I always give my Spirit what it needs and wants, whether that's a brief 20 min practice or an extensive 90 min practice, I give myself grace for what I've accomplished during my practice.
"Inhale reach up, exhale fold" I can literally feel my Spirit expand as I release energy from my muscles and joints.
During my personal practice it's just me, there is no one present to hold me accountable but myself. I stop, I start, I stretch, I push, I slack, I breath, I think, I fall, I fail and I get back up (most of the time).
Your personal practice is just that—personal. Allow yourself the freedom to stumble and rise again, for it's in these moments that true growth unfolds. If you never begin, you deny yourself the opportunity to experience the journey of falling, rising, and flourishing.
Much Love and grace,
